Touring New Zealand's North Island by Campervan
The Tolaga Bay Wharf, 60 kilometers NE of Gisborne, is an impressive structure, the longest wharf on the East Coast of New Zealand. The wharf was opened in 1929 - its
interesting history is online, with lots of historic photographs, including
some of it being battered by heavy surf. We would have liked to walk out to the end of the wharf, but very strong winds made that unreasonable.
